Need assistance.
For the life of me, I cannot find how to display recent forum posts on our website. I assume I will probably have to rename index.html to index.php and add something, but I really don't know what.
I thought I found something, but the documentation blows. Google searches seem fruitless. I just search for "myBB display recent posts on website". Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. I did find one plugin for the board for this, but it was way outdated and doesn't work.

RE: Need assistance.
Can you add the Get Todays posts to a frame possibly? http://red.planetarena.org/forum/search....n=getdaily

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head....

I mean, its obvious, and you've probably already looked at this, but, idk... and are you saying rename the red.planetarena.com to index.php, because, you could probably use the 'includes' php code and get it to display, but yeah, you'd have to rename.... I will look later.

And Hiya. Big Grin

Nice job on the new forums. Flashy. Cool

Also, you should add these to the smilies: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/in...p?mod=2831

EDIT: If you go to http://red.planetarena.org/forum/portal.php you can see the latest threads there, idk if you can look through the files on the server, possibly they have a page there, or maybe implement it with RSS, I see this in the code when viewing source.

Code:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Latest Threads (RSS 2.0)" href="http://red.planetarena.org/forum/syndication.php" />

So this: http://red.planetarena.org/forum/syndica...pe=atom1.0
or: http://red.planetarena.org/forum/syndication.php

RE: Need assistance.
Yeah, that is not quite what I was looking for.
What I want is something like the section of this page http://www.warsow.net/?page=home that says "latest discussions".

RE: Need assistance.
That's probably what I need, my problem is I just don't know Php at all, so I don't know what I am doing. Very frustrating, very few proper examples of this I can find where I can see an actual index.html or index.php with the code integrated. It's like people are trying to keep it secret from me Smile

RE: Need assistance.
It'd be easier if we could see the code behind the page. If you view source, it will only show the code after its ran the script. It sucks. lol

I think this looks like a great possibility. Use
http://lastrss.oslab.net/index.php?q=download and then use this as latest thread RSS link: http://red.planetarena.org/forum/syndica...hp?limit=5

Seems to be possibly easiest way to do this.

EDIT: You could also try this http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex.../index.htm
or: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex.../index.htm
or: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex...player.htm

RE: Need assistance.
Thanks, got it to work!
Now I just have to tweak it, etc, and get it to the right of the twitter feed.

I assume you don't need help with that, correct?

EDIT: Looking good, think you gotta add the CSS to whatever the other file is though, so the links don't look like that.

Nope, got it, that was easy enough. All that's left is the style for it(colors, etc). Probably work on it more tomorrow. Thanks for all your help!

Lmao, as soon as I edit my last post you say the same thing. Big Grin

EDIT: I did just realize something though, you may want to limit the RSS feed from forums to only the public categories. I just try to click on the latest thread and it says I don't have access... Just my 2 cents.
